Dressing for the cooler temperatures—even when you’re a celebrity heading to your favored famous-people haunt in the still-balmy Los Angeles—can be tricky. Selena Gomez, though, knows just how to style the seasonal vibe shift.

Photographed on Thursday night (October 23), Gomez was seen leaving Giorgio Baldi with her mother Mandy Teefey. Still holding onto her bridal whites, the newlywed cozied up in a white cashmere coat with pointed lapels and a wraparound waist, and underneath, wore an oatmeal colored knit maxi dress, and ivory perforated ballet flats in woven macrame from Larroude. Gomez added a white crescent-shaped leather handbag and square gold hoop earrings.

The Rare Beauty founder kept her glam clean and simple, with her hair in a slicked back bun, her brows brushed up and fluffy, a delicate pink lip, and flushed cheeks. Wine red nails added a pop of color.

For that famous stomp to and from everyone’s favorite Los Angeles red sauce joint, Gomez made the case for the transeasonal ballet flat. While fall calls for cozier fabrics and sleek tailoring in foliage-infused color palettes, the ballet flat deserves a life beyond summer. As Gomez shows, pairing the shoe with a cozier top half keeps it relevant and elegant.

Monochromatic styling is also straight from Selena Gomez’s style playbook. In a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson show, she wore an oxblood jumpsuit by Ronny Kobo and matching garnet-toned Jimmy Choo pumps. Of course, around her recent wedding to Benny Blanco, Gomez went all-in on bridal whites, and for their newlywed debut on the red carpet at the Academy Museum Gala, both opted for sumptuous, all-black Armani.

Whether stepping out for spaghetti or a turn on the step and repeat, Selena Gomez’s styling tricks stay sophisticated, understated, and easily replicable with what you have in your own fall wardrobe.
