For any A-lister attending the Venice Film Festival, having a movie premiere at the glitzy event would be exciting enough. But this week, Greta Lee has two buzzy films in the running. The actor touched down in the romantic Italian city to promote Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite (which she stars in alongside Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson), as well as Kent Jones’s Late Fame (co-starring Willem Dafoe). “[It’s] completely surreal,” Lee tells Vogue. “I feel incredibly lucky, especially because this is my first year attending. Having them here together is really unbelievably special.”
Among other first-timers like Ayo Edebiri, Lee admits she was excited to take part in the glamour of the festival—a Hollywood film gathering unlike any other in the world. “It’s Venice! I’m surrounded by history, cinema, and boats,” says Lee, whose star rose with her incredible performance in the 2023 film, Past Lives. “The incredible part has been celebrating beautiful, original films in a place that feels like its own kind of movie.” Her fashion approach for the star-studded week? “I’m channeling Katherine Hepburn in the movie Summertime—except I hope not to fall in the water,” she jokes.
