There are plenty of highly-anticipated films making their debut at the 2025 Venice Film Festival this week, but few are as buzzy and star-studded as the new Luca Guadagnino film, After the Hunt. Starring Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri, and Chloe Sevigny (to name a few), it is one of the splashiest ensemble casts that is featured in the festival.

This morning, the official photo call was held for the new project, and A-lister Julia Roberts was on hand—wearing a new custom design from Versace. Her sleek daytime look marked designer Dario Vitale’s first-ever design outing for the Italian label, since he was appointed creative director back in March. (Longtime designer Donatella Versace, meanwhile, stepped down, marking the end of an era and a curious start to the next for the fashion house.)

Roberts’s tailored design channeled a minimal 1990s spirit: Her look featured a single-breasted blazer in blue wool, worn overtop a striped shirt and denim straight-leg jeans. It was timeless and pared-back, a far cry from the brazen prints and bright colors that Versace is known for. For accessories, Roberts sported a gold belt buckle, woven leather slingbacks, and a leather Medua bag that featured featured her initials on it: “JM,” for Julia Moder—her married name to husband Daniel Moder.

With the film’s formal premiere happening later today, check back to see if Roberts will wear another new-Versace design on the red carpet. Getting Julia Roberts, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, to be your muse? It’s not a bad way to unveil a new chapter for a brand.
