Boucheron Hosted a Grand Hollywood Hills House Party to Celebrate its West Coast Arrival

“I feel sexy and like a boss!” Tracee Ellis Ross exclaimed to Vogue—understandably, given that she was dripping in at least 10-carats of Boucheron diamonds. The actress was among those taking the French jeweler’s creations out for a night on the town on Wednesday evening. To celebrate the new-ish West Coast flagship, it was time for a lavish dinner party.

The storied maison unveiled its 5,296-square-foot boutique on Rodeo Drive during the summer, fusing its Parisian heritage with Hollywood glamour. As such, a mega-watt guestlist—and backdrop—worthy of Tinsel Town was called for to commemorate the milestone. Ross was joined by the likes of Julianne Moore, Laura Dern, and Natasha Lyonne for an elegant fete hosted in the majestic Harvey House. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the John Lautner-designed mid-century modern marvel has a worthy place on the National Register of Historic Places.

Inside, the exuberant, geometric house had been given a Boucheron zhuzh for one night only. Portraits of founder Frédéric Boucheron and his clientele from the Golden Age of film were on display, as well as pieces from the house’s private collection. A gold, emerald, diamond, aquamarine, and opal butterfly brooch from 1900 that Elizabeth Taylor wore to the Oscars in 1976—a gift from Richard Burton—was prompting audible gasps in the room. Also given the museum treatment were the brand’s famed question mark necklace, while mannequins exhibited extravagant diamond, pearl, and gold necklaces. Some of the bedrooms inside Harvey House even had models lounging around, showing off the jewelry. Among the first guests to arrive, actress Judith Light was taking her time to peruse—perhaps planning a request for a future red carpet moment.

Soon, the party was flooded and attendees flexed their jewelry: Dern showed up in a stunning necklace and sophisticated chandelier earrings to match, while Ross paired her show-stopping Boucheron Torque necklace paved with diamonds, rock crystal, and onyx on white gold with sparkling rings and earrings. “This necklace kills me because it’s so beautiful,” she said. “Even the way the clasp is done, I love it and it feels like a little nod to both the future and history.”
