Considering a fall reset? It doesn’t have to be dramatic—just ask Amal Clooney. Days after serving up toasted glamour in London with long, waist-skimming locks, she’s gone shorter for fall.

Of course, shorter is a relative term here. When you have hair that is that long, thick, and luscious (ahem, Amal), even a few inches feels dramatic. “I cut off between six and eight inches of hair,” says Dimitris Giannetos, Clooney’s go-to guy for all things hair and makeup. “Amal has never had a haircut like this before.”

Right before the 2025 Albies, Giannetos and Clooney decided it was time to change up her color. They took her base shade of brown a bit darker while warming up the face-framing pieces to a shade he calls “toasted almond.” The Scandinavian-style face-framing pieces, he told Vogue at the time, help to “keep features soft and sweet.” Giannetos is loyal to the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Serum, which helps with taming frizz and adding shine, whether it’s for Clooney’s day-to-day or for a big red carpet moment.

Giannetos describes Clooney’s new look simply: It’s a “power cut.” It came in conjunction with another major milestone, as the human rights lawyer announced that the foundation she shares with her husband, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, will be partnering with the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice to democratize legal access for women and children through harnessing AI.

If you’re looking to recreate Clooney’s new ‘do for yourself, Giannetos says to ask for your hair to be cut to the décolletage with blunt ends and a few very long face-framing pieces. Add in a sun-kissed makeup look using Charlotte Tilbury products, and the moment is complete. “It’s sophisticated and modern,” he adds.
