Lena Góra loves to keep it cheeky, and the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her new film Erupcja—in which she stars alongside Charli XCX—proved the perfect opportunity for the Polish actor and writer to do just that.

Underneath a vintage black velvet Maison Margiela dress, Góra wore a pair of black Araks panties emblazoned with the film’s name in a white cursive script to walk the red carpet on Thursday. “Through my Berlin techno scene, I came to know my styling team, Courtney Trop and Valeria Semushina,” Góra says. “I leaned on them because I knew they could match my fashion sensibilities. They sent this rare archival Margiela piece and had this genius idea to pair it with custom underwear.”

Góra, an art lover who would describe her personal style as “The Virgin Suicides meets True Romance,” felt perfectly at ease in the daring archival dress. “This felt like a sculpture that made me feel protected,” she says.

The actor, who shares a writing credit on Erupcja alongside Charli, director Pete Ohs, and co-stars Jeremy O. Harris and Will Madden, was overjoyed to have “beautiful Warsaw seen in a way that echoes the great Polish filmmakers of the ’60s and ’70s.” She adds, “Filming this very intimate piece in my home of Warsaw was very intimate and important to me as an artist, so bringing it to an acclaimed stage like TIFF felt vulnerable.” But, nerves aside, “in the spirit of the movie, we just had fun.”
