When Demi Lovato walked down the aisle at Santa Barbara’s Clark Estate, she did so in (as one would expect) a white dress. But it wasn’t just any dress: it was a dress by Vivienne Westwood. “I have been a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs for a long time,” Moore told Vogue. “When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs—specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body, and her use of corsets.”

Ever since Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw posed for a fictional issue of Vogue in a bridal gown by the British designer, the brand has become synonymous with a fashion-forward bride. (The gown even made a re-appearance in And Just Like That, with Sarah Jessica Parker’s character wearing it to the Met Gala.) In addition to Lovato, Miley Cyrus wore a Vivienne Westwood dress to marry Liam Hemsworth. Meanwhile, Barbara Palvin wore Vivienne Westwood to marry Dylan Sprouse in Hungary. And just this week, Charli XCX tied the knot with The 1975 drummer George Daniel in London wearing a classic Westwood design—and putting a brat twist on bridal.

And those are just some of the more famous names. Vogue has run several weddings that feature Westwood’s creations over the years. (One bride, Jesse Light, even wore three dresses by the designer: “Once I put Vivienne Westwood on though, it was game over. Things just clicked. I didn’t need to look any further,” she says.) Why? Many point to Westwood’s masterful corsetry, which emphasizes feminine curves and adds a flattering structure to the wearer’s body.

Below, some of our favorite Vivienne Westwood weddings in Vogue.
